Description

Amorolfine Hydrochloride Cream: Amorolfine is commonly categorized under a class of drugs known as ‘antifungal.’ It is mainly used in the treatment of fungal nail infections. Fungal infection usually occurs when a fungus invades and affects the tissue on the skin.  Symptoms include skin rash, irritation, redness, and scaling of the skin.

Amorolfine contains an antifungal drug called Amorolfine, which acts by inhibiting the production of a chemical named ‘ergosterol’ within fungi that causes the infection of the nail. Without ergosterol, the fungus cannot survive. Thus, fungi that cause infection die.

Use Amorolfine as directed by your doctor. Common side effects of Amorolfine include dry skin, itching, redness, or burning sensations of the skin. Most of the common side effects of Amorolfine do not require medical attention and usually go away on their own with time. If you experience any persistent or increased side effects from the drug, consult your doctor.

Medical Benefits:

  • Amorolfine is an antifungal drug primarily used to treat various fungal infections of the nails and skin, like ringworm, jock itch, and athlete’s foot, seborrheic dermatitis, and pityriasis.
  • Cell membranes are critical to the survival of the fungal cells, blocking the entry of unwanted substances into the cells while inhibiting the leakage of cell contents.
  • Amorolfine causes holes in fungal cell membranes and kills fungi.
  • It effectively clears fungal infections and relieves symptoms of skin irritation, such as cracking, burning, scaling, and itching, brought about by the infection.

Uses:

  • Manages athlete’s foot (Tinea pedis): Amorolfine treats fungal infections between toes.
  • Treats cutaneous candidiasis: Amorolfine is used for yeast infections of the skin.
  • Treats Pityriasis versicolor: Amorolfine reduces discoloration patches because of the overgrowth of the fungus.
