AZTREOCHEM 1000 INJECTION contains aztreonam, an antibiotic injection that is used to prevent or treat a variety of bacterial infections, such as those of the blood, brain, ears, skin, belly, bones, lungs, and urinary tract. 

Mechanism of Action:

Aztreonam works by stopping the formation of the bacterial cell wall. It breaks down cell wall cell structure, resulting in the death of the cell, by binding to penicillin-binding proteins on the cell wall of bacteria. Has a monobactam structure that provides resistance to multiple bacterial beta-lactamases, making it more efficient against resistant strains.

Uses:

It is not effective against susceptible Gram-positive bacteria.
