Torsemide is applied in the treatment of high blood pressure and oedema (excess fluid in the body). High blood pressure or hypertension is a disease in which the pressure exerted by blood against the artery wall is raised. Oedema can happen in the case of high blood pressure, where body fluids become trapped within the hand, arm, foot, ankle, and leg tissues, resulting in swelling.

Torsemide includes Torsemide, which functions to increase the quantity of urine that is excreted from the kidneys. It efficiently decreases excess fluid volumes in the body and alleviates oedema (swelling) that is due to heart, liver, kidney, or lung disease. This decreases the burden on the heart and improves the heart’s ability to pump blood effectively around the body. It thus helps to decrease high blood pressure, preventing the possibility of a heart attack or stroke.

• Do not overdose on this medicine.
• It is recommended to take this medicine after having a meal.
• Do not chew or crush these tablets.

Dosage:

Take this medicine with the correct dose advised by your medical professional. Never overdose on this medicine, or you will be affected by different diseases. Never discontinue this medicine unless and until your physician advises you to discontinue.

Storage:

Keep this medication in a dry condition and a cool place. Do not keep this medication in sunlight or where children and pets can access it.

Precautions:

• Take it in the morning with breakfast to prevent waking up at night to pass urine.
• Regularly check your blood pressure after initiation of Torasemide and report to your doctor if it fails to come down.
• Inform your doctor if you are feeling dizzy, exhausted, or weak in muscles that last.
• Take potassium supplements or consume potassium-rich foods (banana, spinach, coconut water, etc.) because Torasemide tends to lower your potassium levels and cause dehydration.
• You may be required to have regular blood checks to check your kidney function.
